It's been heavily hacked.

I think he means the big thick terscheckii looking plant which is up near the back wall next to the herbarium.
It's sad that so many plants get attacked like that scop. I remember when there used to be a large catha edulis in the sbg but they took it away due to the attention it attracted.

I like cereus as a grafting stock too.

Just got around to sowing mine today. I gave some seeds away to another worthy dude as well who missed out. Can't wait to see what they turn into! I'm propagating peres like mad to do plenty of grafts, but I'll be leaving lots on their own roots.

I like to ask them if they're wearing sexy underwear. Or even better, if they're wearing any at all...

Yeah I guess you'd need a ton of leaves to get sick anyway.
Thanks for the offer miss meander, but I'm plum outta space and have nowhere to plant them.

I thought you needed to be a little bit careful of cyanogenic glycosides in fresh edulis leaves but I could be wrong. Maybe the hot water processing into tea drives them off somewhat?

Bugger. I was planning a long road trip next year and fields was high up the list of "must visit" places.
In a few years oliveton will be the new fields...

Small specimens like those may not flower, which makes it hard. The ones in my yard are about 2m tall and no sign of flowers this year. But in the bush below my house it's yellow fever!

Flux, not sure where you're at, but obtusifolia should be starting to flower right now. If you're seeing flower formation you'd be on the money.

Here's some pics of Nitrogens TPC...I'm just the caretaker
I'm pretty certain Nitrogen put his return address on all those seed containing envelopes he recently mailed out & this being the season and all, he'd probably totally get off on a christmas card from ya'll & a few AUD's, Deutsche Marks, EURO's or a few Dead Presidents...
He's blown all of us away with his generosity, reciprocate in kind & show him some love mates........
True, and when I can decipher the handwriting I'll be doing that!

I've got a bunch of ib's hybrid yearlings, the macrogonus x scopulicola is by far the fastest and chunkiest of the varieties so far.
So fat.

That one does look pretty funky, but I'm no expert on witches broom.

my whole point besides being slightly drunk
and doing my usual anti-american "jokes"
was that the gun thing was too drastic
but I guess I live in a low-violence and low-crime place
thus the idea of owning a gun is so alien...
who knows what I would be like if I had be born, say in Texas?
Sagi, I grew up with guns in my bedroom and I'm probably one of the strongest anti-guns people you'd meet. But I was taught about how to respect guns, and the first lesson I ever learned was that you never ever point a gun at anyone.
My dad's side of the family preferred their hands for setting disputes.

I believe Colombia and some other central American countries have the highest murder rates, but personally I'd prolly rather be in central America than the middle east.

Also, gigantic respect to zelly who is obviously doing loads of unpaid and upraised work here too. I hope I have the chance to visit your garden one day zelly.

Well, I'd better get mine rebagged! I took the bags off on the weekend because they looked like they were pretty well established and I didn't want any damping off to happen in this warm weather.
