Positive Drug Drive test may not show impairment
Strontium Dawg replied to Pat Uri's topic in Legal Matters
Phaemons dog, just want to confirm if I read this correctly, are you implying that zinc (say a zinc oxide tablet dissolved in water) may cause a test to show a negative result? If so, that is very interesting information indeed. Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I've seen a few articles lately pointing out the inherently unfair aspects of the current testing regime. Notably that cocaine is not tested for even though the equipment is readily available, neither are benzos and other substances. We wouldn't want to upset the pharma applecart by suggesting that fine upstanding citizens using their perfectly legal products might be causing problems on the roads, would we.- 70 replies

Happy birthday Evil Genius

Happy birthday Eg, thanks for everything you do. -
Try this, it's so cool and you'll love it, trust me! Get some jars or glasses, fill about a third of the way with water, then another third of vegetable oil. Put some different colour food colouring in. This part looks cool already, but wait for the trick... Plop an aspro clear tablet (or an alka seltzer for you US readers) and watch it go nuts! Voila, instant lava lamps. If you could find colours that glow in blacklight I imagine that might just blow your mind!

Advice needed: Growing Trinidad Scorpion and Ghost Chillies from seed
Strontium Dawg replied to Lucifuge's topic in Ethnobotany
Just chuck some seeds in a pot with some shitty mix or your garden and forget about them. Sometimes that's the best method. I've had stuff grow when I've done that that never grew when I babied them. -
You know what fixes that every time? A lil bohemian rhapsody. Try it. Mamamia mamamia Figaro...

Advice needed: Growing Trinidad Scorpion and Ghost Chillies from seed
Strontium Dawg replied to Lucifuge's topic in Ethnobotany
It's hard to know what might be causing it unless you can give us a little more info about the growing conditions. Young seedlings can be prone to damping off and rot from fungus. How wet is the media you are growing them in? I've found Trinidad scorps to be one of the most hardy plants, they don't like really strong light too early in life though. I usually just sprout them in jiffy pellets, then once roots start poking out the sides and bottom I pot them up in standard potting mix, nothing special. Give them a bit of seasol, maybe weak ferts if the leaves start yellowing. Water them regularly but don't keep the soil overly wet. -
Where's my cash at? I invested mine in glass. A glass jar to be more precise. I reckon if I emptied it out there might be $12 or so in there.

Hi Charlie, there are very few acacias that have been proven to contain any significant amounts of 5meo.

$1 is for the slow service. If you want faster service it's $1.50 so they doubled the price for the same standard effectively.

I've got a couple of fresh seed pods off my plants, and there's a few more coming. If you want to try them I'm happy to send them out. I was underwhelmed by the 2 different 20x extracts in terms of analgesia. It's a pretty little plant with nice flowers though, and quite hardy. Quite delicate looking.

Preventing blossom end rot in chilli - advice?
Strontium Dawg replied to gtarman's topic in Ethnobotany
Are they in full sun? If so, and you can move them to part shade or stick a shadecloth over them it will help. -
Oh shit. That's so sad. I had many great conversations with him via pm and always had good trades too. I hope he's found peace on the other side.

Hi Folks. Cabin fever is starting to set in after several days of rainy weather, but at least the garden is looking good. Here's a few pics. Some baby Psychotrias - Carthagenensis and Nexus are doing well, the shipibo and viridis are a bit slower to sprout. Cannas loving the rain, Caapi, Morning Glory and Obtusifolia down the back, Psycho0 to the right. Down back to the left there is peruvianus "GH", bridgesii "Ben" and peruvianus "KK2152". Incarvillea sinensis with Budleia. Iochroma australe doing well, the small Acacia simplex has stalled, maybe it's too cold down here for it? There's an Ecuador Pink Brugmansia in there too, but the sanguineas I sprouted from Bogfrog's seeds have been shredded constantly by caterpillars. They're almost like sacrificial anodes, the caterpillars eat them exclusively and wont touch anything else! They must be yummy... Chillies: Yellow 7 pots, Chocolate habs, Brain strain 7 pots, peruvianus, yowie, eileen, terscheckii, ss01xss02, super pedro and some kanna in this bed with red Brugmansia sanguinea from Interbeing and an Ecuador pink Brug from an old lady in my neighbourhood. My favourite Hibiscus: "Pink Rays". This Frangipani has nostalgic value to me. It is a cutting from a tree my Grandad had in his back yard which was there since the 1950's, and it brings back good memories of my childhood. I'm glad to have these cuts to keep it alive. Morning Glory "Heavenly Blue" and Brugmansia "Sacred Sunset" from Bullit. There's a Turbina Corymbosa hiding in there somewhere too. Some of Interbeing's awesome crosses. Astrophytum asterias "Superkabuto" graft and some Lophophora williamsii "Koehres". Some Lophs that got munched by some creature on Christmas day... macrogonus. Well, that's enough for now. I'll start documenting the rest of the collection for posterity soon. Hope you enjoy these pics. It's a modest garden but it's kept me sane ( kind of )... (edited to get the right cacti descriptions in the right photos)

A rainy day stroll in Glaukus' garden
Strontium Dawg replied to Strontium Dawg's topic in Chill Space
Good advice there sally. Funny you mention how orderly things look...if only you could have seen it a few months ago... One of the unintended benefits of being temporarily unemployed is that I've had plenty of time to spend in the garden! I thought I'd better get some photos before it degenerates again!
