Mine is in full sun and seems to like it. -
Why do you keep opening it?

Being at work sometimes makes me want to dip all the tea and coffee stirrers (paddlepop sticks) in capsaicin extract and put them back in the jar. Does that make me a bad person?

I've had terrible luck trying to grow hylocereus. Whenever I intentionally try to grow them specifically they get orange rot. Whenever I throw cuttings away in the garden, they seem to grow ok, but they're in the place I don't want them. Maybe I'm trying too hard!

The good vibes generator
Strontium Dawg replied to Bert&Ernie's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Vibes to you. I had to resign from a job that was killing me inside, even though I had no other job to go to and needed to support my family. I was being bullied by a senior director to the point where I'd arrive at work and sit in may car in the carpark for half an hour trying to will myself to go inside. I started to take xanax every day to numb myself enough to do it. You'll be glad you did it once you're free, and something will come along soon. Super vibes. -
Once you get away from the major centres on the east coast, the cost of living comes down a fair bit, so it's easier to get by with less. You can do it even in Sydney, as long as you don't like eating out at restaurants, buying coffee, going to the pub, paying your bills on time...all that stuff's overrated anyway!I hear you Zen Peddler, my family's been on a single income for a while, and sometimes it's a real struggle. I can't see us staying in Sydney too many more years, the cost of living is out of control.

Capsaicin / Chilli peppers synergy with other drugs
Strontium Dawg replied to mutant's topic in Chill Space
I think if you look up the nutmeg/space paste/oilahuasca threads you'll find some useful info regarding capsaicin usage for inhibiting/potentiating substances. I get a real buzz out of capsaicin, like after a long run, when you feel great after pushing past the wall. Feels alive. -

I think it's also worth noting that almost all studies of cannabis use and effects are related to smoking, whereas many medical users in particular choose edible products as their roa. This would mitigate any risks associated with smoking obviously. As for recreational users, no doubt smoking is by far the most prevalent, but as vaping becomes more common, it will be interesting to see what research is carried out. My opinion is that anyone who thinks smoking cannabis is healthy for their lungs and overall wellspring is deluded, but the committee is considering personal choice. That's what this comes down to, personal choice. If there was less moral hysteria around the topic in society, there would probably be better informed people, who are in a position to make personal choices based on good information.

Nicotine & Mental Health
Strontium Dawg replied to Change's topic in Pharmacology, Chemistry & Medicine
Sorry, I should note that I posted the article above in response to anodyne's comment regarding links between cannabis use and mental disorders such as schizophrenia. I make no claims as to the veracity of the research or the possible cherry picking of outcomes by the writer of the article. -

It's more cytotoxic but the studies haven't been able to correlate this with an increase in cancer risk. Something in tobacco smoke prevents damaged cells being destroyed and this differs from cannabis smoke.

Do you ever take a big bite of something only to find you can't quite chew it properly as it's too big and your teeth just kind of rotate it around in your mouth?

And yes rc, if the public had a choice between a rise in the gst, and what is essentially free money for the states from taxes on sales of cannabis, I bet a lot of conservative voters might suddenly take an interest on the matter.
