  1. If you're starting from seed you have plenty of years to read all there is to know!
  2. What I mean is cut or pinch off the tips of branches to force new shoots out of the lower nodes. This will increase the bushiness. You could make tea from fresh leaves, but the heat will make the process of cathinone turning to cathine happen faster. And yes, young plants won't produce much - in terms of weight or desirable alkaloids.
  3. Lots of threads on here already about this topic. UTSE. In general, Khat is best when fresh off the bush. The bushes will take quite a few years before they are useful, it helps to keep nipping out the new shoots to encourage bushiness, which also stresses them into production of the good stuff. If dried, do not use heat. Papers suggest drying for up to 72 hours at no more than 20°C will not significantly change the ratio of alks, but there's a lot of contradictory opinions.
  4. I've been off coffee, booze, weed and my dreams are super intense and vivid again. Few nights ago there was some guy trying to extort money from my wife while I was away, we were at home and a soft knock on the door, followed by a sinister voice saying "hello, it's Brad again". I knew this was the guy so I raced to the door to confront him, but he was too strong and pushed me back inside. We struggled for a while and I woke up. Last night I was at some kind of celebrity event, and Myf Warhurst was upset at me because apparently we were supposed to be dating but I couldn't remember her name. We ended up as a couple, which felt very comforting. Then I was showing some tourists a valley that looked a bit like hobbiton in the Shire, only much hillier. I was trying to get home, but I didn't have a vehicle so I was running for 20-30km, and somehow missed my street. I ended up in a very welcoming country pub where I was greeted by Tony Abbott who wanted to have a beer with me. A lot of my friends were there and I felt kind of embarrassed that I was talking to him, but I also felt a bit sorry for him and thought it might be worthwhile to have a drink with him anyway so I did. Afterwards I was with some friends, and we were going out so we spoke to some boy, he left and came back with a bag of roast chicken, and apparently he had concealed drugs inside. Everything in this dream had a very relaxing feeling, I woke up feeling great.

    The last Shaman

I just watched a great doco on Netflix called "The last Shaman", it's definitely worth a view. It tells the story of a young man suffering from suicidal depression, and his struggle with modern life, which leads him to pursue Ayahuasca as a last resort. More than that though, it shows the perils of the Aya tourism trade, and what it's doing to the communities in the Amazon. I highly recommend it. It makes no judgements.

    WBs random photos

Was going to say that blue looks unnatural for fresh water. Reminds me of some of the mountain lakes in NZ, they have amazing turquoise colours.

    regrowth study in 2019

I have been seeing a lot of poachers called out recently in the FB groups which is good. But I guess there still exists a black market for poached plants anyway. Most of the poachers just don't seem to understand why it's a problem. Education is key, but it's hard for effective education to be provided when a plant is considered illegal.

    Quit cigs

I quit ciggies one morning in 1994 when I got up, had my usual coffee and stuyvo fix, then couldn't stop throwing up. Not sure if that counts as a spiritual experience but when you can barely take a breath for air you'll certainly pray! Mind you, I did smoke bongs with baccy afterwards as a daily religious ritual for another 11 years. Now I understand finally why giving up smoking means I can finally actually experience tobacco's good qualities.

    Free Galphimia glauca

I'm actually just about to start them now, I read they are better off germed in cooler months. I'll post an update if I get some above ground.
  10. My take on good sleep is that it is like most things in life, it takes some practice and consistent routine. A lot of exercise early in the day always helps. I can't stand any light at all, it really disrupts my sleep. I wear an eye mask, I've just upgraded to the best one ever. It's made by Manta sleep. It has adjustable eye pods that you can over on the band to get exactly the right spacing. Makes a huge difference. Any amount of alcohol makes my sleep worse. Weed puts me into a deep sleep but I don't dream. I often find a small amount of starchy carbs just before bed makes me sleep really well. The main thing I notice is that if I stay in a consistent pattern of trying to wind down before bed, and keep to a routine, my sleep is great. It's nothing new.

    Drying and curing N.rustica

You'll need to keep the humidity around 60-65%. I can't comment on the yellowing, they may be yellow and crispy dry or yellow and soft/supple.

    Drying and curing N.rustica

If you've passed the point of dryness already, adding more water won't restart the curing process.

    Drying and curing N.rustica

Chances are you may have already gone past the point where curing is possible. You want to retain enough moisture in the leaves for the process to start.

    Old SAB pachanoi

Dont think it's the one called OSP. I've got one from SAB, can't remember if it's pach 2 but it's a dead ringer for PC. Even down to the flowers with pale hairs. I reckon this is the same one.
