Cactus collection looking sickly... any advice?

The Scoria/pebbles are only scattered on top, mostly for aesthetics. Would never try to use them as the growing medium. The soil mix underneath is fine as I've been using the same mix for close to 10 years. Weird that they're dehydrated, I was watering once a week and started seeing signs of rot so I cut it back a bit. I thought it looked like dehydration but didn't want to water again and do more damage. Good call on removing the top layer though, will make it easier to judge moisture levels
  2. Hey fam, been a while since I've posted here. I moved all my cacti collection into a shade cloth covered greenhouse probably 18 months ago All were doing really well and looking super healthy, flowering etc. However over the past few months they've started looking a bit unwell Most have new blueish growth on top and the older, green growth below it looks and feels really "sunken" and flimsy, instead of firm and plump like they were a few months ago Any idea what the issue could be? too much water? not enough? nutrient deficiency? pests? EDIT: no idea why pics are uploading sideways. Apologies

    Flowhood recommendations

I bought mine from Aussie Mushroom Supplies. Pricey if you buy one already assembled versus building your own, but they're great quality

    Plant Hardiness Spreadsheet

Hey guys, I've been bored at work so I decided to put together a spreadsheet listing frost/cold hardiness for the most commonly discussed Ethnobotanical plants on SAB Thought I would share it here in-case it's useful to anyone else. The info was gathered from and cross referenced using multiple online sources and personal reports. Obviously there are always abnormalities and outliers, but might be helpful as a guide This is by no means a comprehensive list and still a work in progress. I also haven't included cacti. I may get around to that eventually. My cacti have all been exposed to frosts and -6c temps and survived so I don't think it's as pertinent. If anyone has any first hand experience that differs from what's listed, or any others I should add to the list, feel free to chime in! Plant Hardiness.xlsx
  7. Specifically Mitragyna Hirsuta & Mitragyna Diversifolia. Trying to determine if either show any activity. Both are apparently legal in Aus. Neither contain Mitragynine but do contain similar alkaloids. Can't find a lot of info online.

    Desperately looking for Ps. weraroa

Would love to get my hands on a print of this also. I was on the hunt for a weraroa print for years, many different forums, broken promises and failed trades later and I've still had no luck.

Cultivation of glowing mushrooms (ABC news article)

Got a culture of this in my fridge but I haven't had the time to try and grow it. Might do that this weekend.

    Incense

Somewhat related, but is there any evidence that using incense indoors in confined rooms is harmful to humans/pets? I love incense but I'm always weary of using it excessively
  12. I remember reading a few Shroomery posts many years ago about some community experiments hybridizing mushrooms with rattlesnake venom. I believe RogerRabbit was at the forefront of the experiments. Might be worth doing a search on there for some threads
