  1. I highly rate the 5650 LEDs too. I just use 6500K White LEDs and they work awesome for growth of grafts and seedlings. Forgot the name of the chips. Cheers dood You'll love LEDs Godiam. And they will last a long time.
  2. Ill just add in here that infrared light acts as a shade signal for plants but does not do anything for photosynthesis. UV light is damaging and causes superoxide production which can lead to the photosystem in the plant being degraded. Green light, funnily enough, also acts as a single to plants but for the most part isnt used for growth (althpugh some accessory pigments can absorb a portion of green light). Too high light intensity can also lead to similar damage as UV light. Ill try post up some more stuff relating to it over the next few days.

  10. Hey guys, As the title suggests If you are interested in a group purchase of spirulina culture from the CSIRO let me know They are stupidly expensive cultures thanks to the CSIRO. All of their stuff is stupidly expensive A$140 for 20 millilitre cultures and A$230 for 250 ml cultures (GST and freight and packaging not included) Taken from their site. So really it would be awesome if we could get 10 or more people interested. The culture once establish expands rapidly and I plan to get a 1000L culture going in the near future. If that happens I'll be posting a never ending giveaway thread for the culture too. Once set up it can nearly double in cell count every 24 hours. As you can imagine that is insane growth. So yeh I really hope there is a heap of interest because I cannot afford $140 for 20mL of algae -.- Cheers everyone :D

Can't sleep? Try these Agarwood leaves

Looks like you have legit sustainable product so that is awesome And appreciate the response also. Still a little skeptical on the sleep properties of it but as far as fragrance goes it is apparently unique and hasn't been synthetically replicated so that's always cool. And it does seem to offer a few medicinal benefits such as analgesia (or at least lower sensitivity to heat) without anti inflammatory action and it has a laxative effect.

Can't sleep? Try these Agarwood leaves

Okay found one journal that looks reasonably legit in regards to testing sedative effect of 2 different types of agarwood oil along with pure chemicals (the major constituents of the oils) and lavendar oil. The lavendar oil has superior sedative properties and curiously the two different "major constituents" from each of the two different oils both sedated the mice similarly. I say that's curious because I wonder what the effect would be, in regards to sedation, if the same system were to test the effect of solvent vapors and other more common oils? There may be some kind of nervous system depression at play which may not be a fantastic thing if it is a similar mechanism to how solvents work. http://www.borraikrisana.com/fulltext.pdf

And a threatened species which is why sustainability is something definitely worth verifying As well as whether or not the stock is currently in the country or if your order gets dispatched from the farm in Vietnam that was mentioned. If it were dispatched from there then I could foresee quarantine issues

Can't sleep? Try these Agarwood leaves

Where do you source it? Is it a sustainable source? Are the trees infected before harvested or are they uninfected trees? Do you have any actual scientific research to back up the sleep claims? I can't find anything credible in regards to insomnia treatment. It sounds interesting but I like to be sure of what things are as best I can as it seems a new "snake oil" comes out near every second day. Cheers

    Germinating Caapi

I've found so far that stable temperatures, decent light, lots of water and nice rich soil leads to a reasonable success rate. Definitely a touchy one to sprout and absolutely loves it's water For the fungus you could have a go at watering with weak peroxide solution. around about 0.05% peroxide will do fine for your plants (they actually love it). Put 1 shot (30ml) of 3% hydrogen peroxide into 1.5L of water. Should do you good. Will breakdown within a day or so most of the time at such a weak concentration. Helps with mold massively Hopefully others have their own tips

Abuse Of Power In Ceremonies That Use Psychoactive Substances

I like this post I have honestly known one guy who got a lot of a brewing experience. I've met about 10 people who have gone into it hoping for the best and come away with a very warped view on things and ended up massively damaging their own lives and those around them afterwards. I would not say they are better off now than before. Shamans are spiritual leaders for a group of people as far as I see. And there are tribes in existence still with shamans that help lead and guide them. Some of their guidance is really far off and even dangerous at times though and I see that as being a big reason it is not as prominent today. I don't know if my "real" shamans are what you would call "real" shamans. I believe everyone has got some responsibility for their actions but there is most definitely a huge portion of everyone's lives that are way beyond their own control. Some people get the short stick and genuinely do have a shitty time in life. I could understand why those people may feel as though the world is against them and turn towards spirituality, science, arts, music or even shamans to help them through or show them a way. Part of that is because of many of the systems in place in life, Part of that is just the struggle for existence. I don't think that many of these extreme psychadelic experiences are useful for people in a truly bad place. Different story for other substances used in the right settings and under the guidance of the correct people. Would you call a physician trained in administering psychopharmaceuticals in a clinical setting to help patients through psychological trauma a shaman? Because such people do incredible work and many substances are truly powerful. Some are just too extreme for a person in a fragile or vulnerable situation. And a proper shaman should be responsible enough to know this and not just cash in on peoples desperation.

Abuse Of Power In Ceremonies That Use Psychoactive Substances

I think it's only about taking advantage of people yes. I haven't seen many people "healed" from these places. What kind of discussion would you like? Yes I will be blunt about it. Yes I will be dismissive that "they aren't real shamans" and yes I will be combative when people are defending a practice that I find utterly offensive. And that practice is taking money from people going through a rough patch. Also known as exploiting vulnerable individuals. I don't care who does that or when they do it or why they do it or how misunderstood they may be. It's not cool.

    MEDICAL MARIJUANA AUSTRALIA.

Anyone have any references at all as to the CBD profile of sativa and indicas? I've heard everything mentioned above before but haven't ever actually seen anything concrete. Are they actually different species too? Any proof of that? I imagine it would be hard to find journal proof due to illegalities for the past few decades. I'm happy with any sources that seem even slightly credible. I can search from there. Doesn't have to be journals.

    MEDICAL MARIJUANA AUSTRALIA.

If you're talking from a genetic content stand point then no. You can't say you have 40% indica genes and 60% sativa genes But the way I've seen it used is in the example of Sativa plant x Indica plant = 50% sativa 50% indica offspring (as in half of the cross to get to that plant was with sativa and the other with indica) Say you crossed a 50/50 plant with a sativa. The offspring would be 75% sativa and 25% indica. Complete load of shit but good marketing gimmick. Would like to hear of any other systems that people have heard of in regards to the percentage strain stuff too.

Abuse Of Power In Ceremonies That Use Psychoactive Substances

People definitely do love to defend that which they love dearly. Almost like the church defending the priests every time that pops up. Why do people go to shamans? For healing? Why not go to a Dr? Do they say things that you don't like? The only kinds of people that I've known to go to shamans and the like and take it seriously are those that are battling deep seated psychological issues. And having those kinds of issues isn't a problem. Its a pretty fucked up world. If you didn't get some mental discomfort from your life then you probably aren't paying attention. The thing that I don't understand is why someone with psychological issues would go to seek out people that aren't functioning particularly well in the modern world as it is so as to be "helped" so they can function in the modern world more appropriately. It doesn't make sense. And I understand that if you go to a Doctor about your mental issues it can be really damn tough to talk to them about because you feel broken. I've been there. Surrounding yourself with other potentially unstable individuals so that you can "feel better" will never do ANYTHING to help you out. And yes i know that not every single person who looks for spiritual healing and guidance is dealing with mental shit but the vast majority are and getting yourself fucked up on substances that affect your brain in unfathomably complicated ways is probably not the best approach. And the environment for abuse couldn't be better. Hypothetical situation below: "Hi there mr police officer. I went to this ceremony involving partaking in an illicit substance with a whole heap of other people. And this guy that I paid for the "not drugs that are actually drugs" took advantage of me and abused me" Most people would be so damn paranoid about getting themselves into shit and potentially the other people there that they might not say anything. The fact that there are any reported cases in such a dodgy scene is quite surprising. If you take this as a personal attack that is your own fault. I don't mean it that way at all.

Who'd have thought that people making money out of other peoples mental instability might try and take advantage of those same people.
