    My first cactus - ID?

Thanks Bardo. Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it! He'll have some friends soon I think.
  2. Cactii haven't really been my thing, but I picked up this one today. My first cactus! I think I might get hooked! Not entirely sure what it is though, so if anyone could also ID it, that would be awesome The guy did say what it was, but it was noisy and busy and i couldn't really make it out. He also had San Pedro's, but my other half liked this one better, so it came home with us.

Not going to get caught up in the whole genre classification thing, but I'm loving: - Solar Fields - Tripswitch - H.U.V.A Network - Suduaya Spotify is really good for finding new music!
  5. Hi all, Haven't posted much of late, but am still around. I have a sick Calea Z plant. It's about 2 years old, and was doing amazingly well in a pot. since I planted it in the ground last summer, it also did well ( even through the Melbourne Winter! ). Since then, all the leaves went really dark, and all fell off........I thought she was done for, but then new growth arrived! But again, leaves are turning dark and it's just not looking too healthy. It's planted pretty close to a very healthy bunch of Thyme - could they be having some kind of underground battle of the roots?? I know in terms of location/sunlight/watering it's the same spot as when it was potted, and thriving. Any advice from those with a greener thumb than mine appreciated I also thought i'd post some pics of my other plants, which are doing better. I have two Acacia Obtusfolia plants ( about 1.5 years old ) - one is potted, the other is in the ground and seems to be doing a little better. The other is a Psychotria Nexus plant which survived Melbourne winter with no problem and is now starting to grow ( albiet slowly ). Got that one also about a year ago. Hope everyone is having a great year so far

    Shrooms around Daylesford, VIC

Could that other one be a P. Subaeruginosa?
  7. Hi all, Had a lovely walk in some bushland around Daylesford. I think one of the ones below is a possibly a Cube/Sub? definite blue bruising around the stem. Also think I managed to find an Amanita Muscaria! Anyway, enjoy some of the pics, and would love any ID's from those who know. Particularly the one of the cube.f Most of these were nearby bush walking tracks fairly close to a creek line, but up a gully a bit. There were many different types!

    Pscilocybin in Canberra?

Friend of mine found these in his yard in Canberra today - any idea on what they might be? They certainly look a bit Cubey!

    Amanita ??

Hi all, found this growing in a garden bed in Melbourne this morning. Looks like something has chewed it! But not sure if that's just the way it grows. Anyone have an idea of what it could be? I thought maybe Amanita Lividopallescens but it doesn't quite look the same as pics of that one on the web. it's about 6cm high and maybe 8cm diameter cap. In a garden bed that is shaded in the mornings. We've had a fair bit of rain last week, and now cold nights (12 c ) and sunny days of around ~20 - 23 c this week..

    Critique my Fruiting Chamber idea

myco. You are probably right. I should just focus on the endgame, and not worry about the FC hehe

    Critique my Fruiting Chamber idea

Hi all, I'm building a fruiting chamber and wanted to get some opinions/advice on whether anyone see's any glaring issues. This FC will be stored in a fairly cold garage ( overnight temps ~12 Celsius ). So I've devised a method using 2 tubs, with the bottom larger tub having an aquarium heater which will kick in when water temp drops below a certain level. This will help to warm the upper tub ( the Fruiting Chamber ). I'm also wanting to have Fresh Air Exchange & Humidity going into the FC, so here is where i could use some advice. i.e. will the proposed Humidifier work? It's a separate chamber ( 4Litre juice bottle or similar size ) which will use an air pump, airstone or similar to bring in fresh air and air pressure and then an ultrasonic fogger/mister to create the mist. The idea is that the air pressure from the airstone/pump will push that into the chamber. I'll then have a hole ( or holes ) elsewhere for air to escape, positive air pressure at all times from the pump should ensure air only goes out, not in. Other ideas are to have controllers/timers to kick the humidifier on/off as required, or simply have it mist a few times a day on a timer. I'm not overly keen on the Shotgun chamber due to not always being around to mist/fan & the cool temps that might be experienced in the garage ( and I love tinkering and making stuff! ). Anyway, see pic!
