well this thread's going nicely...a nice lttle list oif things for me to ban, for I am the Man! HAHAHAHAHA! not really. but anyway pretty interesting, ephedra is a definite candidate. - well, this is what they tend to do I'm afraid. for any plant they can find a problem with, you could easily find many uses to benefit humankind. but that's just the way it is...also: -> the government loves alcohol and tobacco! this seems pretty obvious judging by their popularity.sorry for deserting my thread guys and guyettes.....actually i fractured my arm . ah well.

hahaha i love it. i wish itv was real

Mitragyna speciosa Flowering Stage of Development
Francois le Danque replied to -bijanto-'s topic in Ethnobotany
I want kratom god dammit! i hate you australia!!!! but seriously, i doubt anyone would notice a kratom plant growing in your yard like they would cannabis or something.... i mean...how are owners of the plant meant to know that it's even illegal? it's not as if they had ads telling us that it had been banned or anything....and yet they could still be charged with cultivation! oh the inhumanity! -
everywhere i see it available kratom is listed as being " a stimulant at low doses, a sedative at high doses and a hallucinogen at higher doses still". or was that calamus??? oh dear i'm, confused now, look what you've done!!
-
That's a rather spiffing artwork!!! i'll give you five bucks for it. come onnnn. should this be in creativity?
-
yeah sounds like a good idea...but make sure it doesn't go mouldy or anything nasty like that . thread hijack: is it possible to buy plain, empty teabags for use with herbal teas? that would be good. SAB should stock them along will capsules and such.... \ oh and coin, i thought green tea had like, 0% caffeine....i could be wrong though.

Tripping: How often is too often?
Francois le Danque replied to Dirty Old Man's topic in Chill Space
i can't believe when i read the topic i thought that this thread was about falling over... for some reason i thought it meant like "i fall over a lot, is something wrong with me?" LOL. ah well. -
good work! don't be a slave to the man.....or......in this case....inanimate substances. but really, good on you. why not go celebrate with some other substances?
-
i still don't get it....

maybe he just did it by accident...kratom?

ahhh now i see apothecary. how foolish of me. on another note, would this mean that atropine could be used to cut down the toxicity of amanitas because they inhibit muscarine action? because that would be good....

All good points, thanks for the feedback. How exactly does one "activation dry" heimia? i've heard this mentioned a couple of times but i don't know what it means... is there a chance that heimia myrtifolia was passed off as salicifolia all five times and that it could be responsible for negative effects while salicifolia is not? I also like the sound of that dehydration/pesticide idea, good thinking! sounds quite plausible.
-
im pretty sure it would have been heimia...they ordered it off the internet..then again of course there's no way to be sure...but the fact that several different people suffered similar effects shows that it's unlikely it was a fake, unless it's commonly used instead, but then why would they bother? bad for business.

godammit what's neem???? can someone send me a link? edit: okay i read about it...sounds pretty useful.

hey apoth, i've noticed several of your smoking mixes contain both tobaccos and tropanics. now if memory serves correcttly, isn't atropine (found in abundance in tropanics) an acetylcholine antagonist while nicotoine is an acetylecholine agonist? wouldn't this mean that if ingesting both at the same time, the nicotine would be counteracted by the atropine? I would have thought this would have about as much effect as injecting your heroin with naloxone (Narcan). or do you think the nicotine acts first, then the tropanes start to take over, as they do not act as quickly as nicotine. interested to see what you think about this. -Frank ps, maybe this belongs in pharmacology, but i thought as this is where the action was i should just put it in here.

Free Fresh D. stramonium & D. ferox seed
Francois le Danque replied to apothecary's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
they shouldn't....I would have thought they'd both have the same alkaloid contents and such. and which strains are you referring to? or do mean species, as in stramonium and ferox? -
