Most of us have made best memories by age 25, research finds
Pie'oh'Pah replied to Dreamwalker.'s topic in Chill Space
I've done some of my most surprising things after 25. I think it is about how high you build your roof (your personal glass ceiling). My life has better memories every year I just aim to get more out of each year. Admittedly I base I lot around family and my job, but life just gets better. Edit: Finding Plants after 30 was one of the great things! -

what happened to the cactus stall in qvm?
Pie'oh'Pah replied to DiscoStu's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Compared to anything I have seen on the west side it is like you have a Department Store . Sounds like a plan I have heard of the 'Collectors Corner' but that was only recently, will def pay a visit next time I am over. -

I came to your stall last year and got an amazing TBM. You have the largest cactus stall I have ever seen in Australia. Even on Holiday I couldn't help myself and had to buy something. -
LOL that was my inspiration for this.I made up the packs this morning, all ready to send.

Got the Chempak fertilizer today about two weeks from order to door. Will feed a couple just this as a control group to see if it is better than good old worm tea.

Hello All I have a new button cactus which has been grown using the following: ""Just use a soiless mix, so perlite, scoria and some small bits of bark you can add some propagation sand if you sift it and throw away the small stuff only use the big bits. Then just use a cacti fertiliser like "chempak cacti fertaliser" its available on ebay, and use every second feed! Only during the growth season."" This is quite different to the profile of my plants and also those I have received from others. Does anyone else use a similar method? The bit about bark seems particularly strange as I often sieve mine to remove these. The plant is in great shape and I would not like to mess with it too much. Thanks again for everyone's input and help.

Thought I would add mine. More a lie I tell people coming to Australia: Have you heard about the drop bears? The only way to keep them at bay is Vegemite behind the ears? Yanks normally fall for it. Silly but funny.

Bunnings Propagator any good for seedlings?
Pie'oh'Pah replied to Nailthesnail's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I haven't had any issues relating to the pots (i.e. mold or mites) mainly use this for trichs and plants. I don't use this setup for buttons tho. -

I have a few they are cheap but pretty strong. Instead of using just the tray I insert Jiffy Peat Pots so I can replant without disturbing the roots. Also I had to trim down a larger tray to get it to fit properly as there wasn't anything that fit just right. -
Nice work I am still in pots can't wait to get into the ground. Awesome that you're dad and you can share this, cactus obsession is the best kind of love.
