Would you get a PS3 over a 360 this year?

Im more than happy with my PS3. Running it on sony bravia lcd and full HD games are fantastic. Flow and feeling are typical playstation, just smoother and more accurate. I think the 360 generates more shades of blacks/grey but dont know much more than that. PS3 frame rate seems fine, havent seen any stressing moments yet. Dont know if the new time crisis will work on LCD's tho?? Im bias from a nintendoo and sony heritage anyways, so i really didnt give the 360 a look in. More for mod heads im thinking. Come to the dark side Andy... the dark side.... BD

    Scarified acacia seeds

The little white bit is called an aril. Apart from attaching the seed to the pod, it serves also as the seeds mode of transport in a way. The aril is highly fragrant and tasty in some species, in some species its sweet. This sweetness/frangrance attracts ants or birds to the fallen seed, where they collect and transport the seed away to another location away from the mother tree.

    Coco Fiber to the rescue!

Its easy for some, not for others, thats the point of this thread I would not recommend that anyone put a loph out in full sun in intense heat at all, unless it has come from exactly the same conditions in the first place. Thats just asking for all types of trouble like severe sunburn to start with. If i was to move my plants into full intense sun/heat now i would loose the lot. Not too wise in this case, considering most lophs are somehwhat protected from full harsh sun, as they are in nature by the mesquite type bushes. Im interested in hearing your technique spunwhirlin, perhaps you should start another thread with your various mediums and watering schedules, as this thread is primarily focused on coco coir for those that have had trouble rooting in other mediums.

    Coco Fiber to the rescue!

Cheers YT Yeah thats possible(i havent done it yet) as long as you make some rivlets or tunnels for the granules to go down thru. Maybe use a blunted knitting needle or big skewer to poke long holes thru the soil and water the granules thru. Try not to damage the root too much. I just noticed a bag of coco out the back that contains neem. Its doesnt say granules or wha they use, its called "El Dorado" in a brown bag. The bag has disintergrated so i cant read the ingredients. Has anyone found a source of neem granules/powder in aus? If so can you please link it to this post Bd.

    Coco Fiber to the rescue!

+UPDATE 5/12/07 Upon returning home the other day, i finally got around to potting up my loph collection. Time to check out the ol goldie that was rootin away in the coco. Well, it has far exceeded my expectations Yippeeee!! Heres a pic after i had washed off the coco, and yes, Andy was right, i let it stay dry for longer periods toward the end of winter, and due to contamination of my stock from a bunnings scop, i relluctantly bow my head and admit i now have minor root mealy problems sob sob.. Very small ammount but they have arrived. Upon checking/repotting the whole collection i would say 80% had minor infestation. Washed and treated the roots with mild neem emulsion. Hope thats enough... Makes sense as they havent put on much growth in the last two years and i couldnt pin it down to anything else.. Heres a close up Nice, fat and fine healthy roots!! The main point of this post was to demonstrate the potential that coco coir has for quick, healthy root production formation on de-grafted lophs. I will definatly use this method again, and i do recommend it. I would keep the coco moist at all times as there is very minimal fungal or rot problems associated, perhaps adding some neem granules to the coco to co-prevent meally issues. Hope that helps everyone Now shes nice and healthy/plump and pumpin out pups. And yep, she has flowered twice in a few weeks BD

    Has anyone.........

From what i can work out here, the eye has 3 fluids that are used to maintain, clean and lubricate the eyes. Its a pretty complex system. Im thinking factors other than vascular dialation/constriction may be at play. Bd

Can Spider Mite damage be repaired?

heya Jono I have had mediocre to great sucess using neem. I have used neem about 5 times now with success, it has seemed to do its job well. No burning of leaves in full sun, critters gone upon re-aplication around a week or so after inital application, and definate slowing of critter breeding. Ive mainly used it for mite control. I assume in this application it may be doing the same job as the soap, but also some residule effect also. Im not sure which brand of neem i have been using, it was a gift from a friend at a city council ill find out soon for ya. What problems have you had with it? Bd.

Can Spider Mite damage be repaired?

Im all for jono's method too, strip the effected leaves, remove from the property or burn, clean up the scraps from the base of the tree and spray remainin tips/ok leaves with neem emulsion. I would then use apo's method of hosing off whats left a few days later, followed by another repeat of the neem. Repeat in another fortnight. Brugs are mite-magnets. I have a love/hate relationship with my aurea, Ive actually moved it out the front to avoid mite infestations throughout the rest of my backyard. But pull those dead leaves off man, they are breeding grounds for future colonies! BD.

    Dark chocolate and Cannabis synergy

Thats slightly wrong. Good quality white(very hard to find) should have high % of cocoa butter, along with milk powder, emulsifiers and vanilla flavour usually. Cocoa butter gives the superior mouth feel and melt at body temp. Most whites use vegie or milk fats instead that taste like shit and feel waxy. Funny thing is, Haighs wont sell white either, They claim its not chocolate, yet they sell crap passed off as chocolate called "milk" chocolate with only 4-5-7% cocoa powder?>? 5% cocoa and you may as well just be colouring your white with brown food dye. I say its not choc unless its over 52% cocoa, 70-80% is by far my fav

PM to make kids study Aussie history

We also had "Australian Studies" wich was pretty much Australian history, in both year 9 and 10. Year ten mainly delt with the Maralinga atomic site and reginal aboriginal lands/languages in SA, including the white invasion about 150yrs before. Looking back now, im quite supprised that the taught us so much in regard to aboriginal health and social problems brought about by white people.

    Introducing "M&D" clone

Hiya All, Just thought it was time to introduce you all to my little friend that should start travelling the trade routes soon. I would like people that already have this clone to keep the associated name with it for further trading, so we can keep track on how she stands up to differing environments, yields and diseases etc. Thanks to those that will spread her prodgeny far and wide. T. bridgesii/ E.langiformis Clone : "Mum&Dad" a.k.a "M&D" "Mum&Dad" clone is a special plant that i managed to resuce over ten years ago form a roadside excavation team (cacti haters). After freeing her from her certain demise and transplanting at my parents home, she was treated to a wonderful life of sandy loam soils terraced with warming moss rocks. For ten years she had sprouted forth much new growth, and quite some height (3.5m+) and pups annually profusely. She has little problems in the way of the dreaded black rot, although we normally have little if any problems with black death at all here. Not sure how she will go in tropical areas(hopefully with spread of this clone we will see soon enough). She can handle high levels of organic ferts without any problems, it causes no blisters or problems anytime of year here. Mature specimen had been growing in position that allowed for early morning sun and full sun till around 4pm most of its life(8years). The later stages of growth(2years before harvest) were almost completely covered(no sun after 11-12am) by an overgrown hakea spp. Dapple but not full sunlight was filtered through to the mature specimen. Tip growth had thinned and no more height was achieved for those two years. Shade may play an important role in high alkaloid level, but this is yet to be fully tested. Characteristics are that of the typical Bolivian type, glaucus lengths rarely exceeding 80-100mm in diameter. Average of 70-85mm. Spines 30-70+mm in length. Pups profusely, both at ground level and along the length of older sections. Growth is quick, averaging around 250-300mm+/year. *EDIT*Took some pics of the mature plant today, hope you enjoy. Main tip: Multi pupping mature stock: Finally, a comparison between M&D, Cornucopia#1 and Cornucopia#2. Ill put up a comparison of Bruce or do a similar "Introducing: Bruce" thread later in the week. Any other friends out there with "M&D" clones could you please add some pics please, i would love to see the new growth in different locations, and how she has performed for you. I also hope to have some cuts available soon for sale/trade. Keep an eye out on SwapnSell, ill drop a reminder note on the SAB seed exchange anyways. Cheerin Bd.

    Monster cannabis stuns police

Yeah the pic makes it hard to see, in the video footage showed the plants well into flower at that height(2+m of stem), I saw the news report on this bust the other day. Some huge plants were in full flower, more like SCROG kinda setup.... just uuuuge!

    Monster cannabis stuns police

Why would you flower a motherplant? What a shame. I think you will find that he old fella is a greek or italian. This canopy method is often used for tomatoes and other fruits(grapes) and works a treat for canabis too! Mind you it does grow a huge ammount of stem, but as Fm said, it may be supercropped often, again like fruit. I would say the old fella knows what going on and is using his expertise in hort/old school gardening techniques to great use. We know there are a million way to grow cannabis, just the cops havent seen this one for a while As for "monster", Geez man, they arent that big!! BD.

    Sleep work shift disorder!

Well put IB, I do have green glasses on, no need to point out the obvious, its helpfull to some of us, i dont think the post was that heated tho.. I was not directly aiming the rant at you, and if offence was taken i retract. Im just having a hard time at the moment with laws/people making laws and medication vs treatment, not just with pot, but a number of things(long story). I guess it just sparked me off... i am passionate by nature.....i wont deny that. Your right tho, i understand that for some(alot) cannabis its a no no but for others its a godsend, its just hard for some people to believe that good can come from it.... Everyone is different Ive taken my nasty cap off now....

    Sleep work shift disorder!

Im amazed at how so many people here have blamed pot or his lack of use for things/sleeping disorders... are we seeing anti-pot drivel even within our own ranks?? Does anyone have any support for these claims? He has already said that it helps, why try to turn him away from its use? I/we know it can mess with a few things like cortisol, but i think Cis knows how the pot has/is effecting him... and if it helps the situation, whats the hells wrong with that? He is going to a doc, they will only sleep test him and then pretty much do fuck all. Maybe pescribe some pills. I have a friend that has bad bad sleeping troubles, i made him go to sleep disorder specialist(SA has Australias leading sleep lab if i remember correctly) and after extensive tests, they basically said yep, you have a sleeping disorder, its not life threatening(life threatening or life shortening??) there you go. No real fixes for the problem, other than llifestyle and drugs. If Cis cant change his current lifestyle due to family commitments and cash flow, then the only way to help is drugs or basic light regime changes. Pharmacutical drugs or herbal drugs, whats the difference?? Natural or synthetic? Its not for us to deny his use of anything. May i also point out, his sleeping problems have arrised due to the lack of use of the herb, Quoted from Cis, "Over the years I have found strains (Sativa’s, Indica’s, Hazes) that help me in my day to day living and have no bad effects to contend with like the Perscription meds." Its not his choice to stop using his own meds, just the laws that prevent him from doing so. Is this humane? Quoted from Cis-"It's now been close to a year since I could grow my own meds and I'm really finding it hard to get by, I'm about to crack & look into Prescription meds!" All i can say is i hope you find a compassionate and helpful doc. Bd.
