Dawnbeaver I had a rootstock pup twice, the first one I took off. And the second pup I left and grafted a icaros dna seedling onto it. I thought it was gonna slow down but remember that the pup makes its own energy and only shares the water supply. Both my icaros and my original graft are growing well. I was hoping that it did slow down since my lophophora was growing way too fast.

peruvianus from GW is it an Icaro?
tizocAu replied to lotuseater's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Sure thing. I have been looking into the whole icaros thing and even asked julio to send me pictures of the mother plants he usually harvest the seeds from. Because of the various types of types one can get from those seeds. I asked him if my seedling looked like any of the mothers. And he said yes. I wonder if he would have said it looked like the mother plants anyhow. -
Thanks mutant. Hope to grow up genetics soon

No we ate and blended it raw. We never experienced any I'll effects. And my dad would use two hands full along with some water. And sugar. I assume u could blend it after boiling it. But it never killed us as kids. Maybe the cyanide content in acute amounts who knows.

On T. pachanoi, T. peruvianus, and T. macrogonus
tizocAu replied to M S Smith's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Could we bump this thread. I wanted to see if anyone has received the short spined kk242 clone, and or has any information about it I made another thread about it and this thread touches bases on this subject.. we know knife actually went to the site and collected various cuts from this site. A cuzco, a true Peruviana and a interesting pachanoi that according to trout they were collected by Rio chillon f. Langa and 4 other spots. All in the region of matucana peru. I'm sure lots of folks got there hands on these clones, vendors, collectors and nurseries. I wanted to see pictures trout only has a couple of shots of these and I think another website sells it also by the name very fastest or pachanoi X peruvianus hybrid. This clone is very interesting and grows amongst other trichocereus. Open pollinated seeds from local plants could bear it's genetics which maybe the explanation from pachanoid being labeled peruvianus. ... -

Looks like matucana pachanoi. I wouldn't be surprised if it was labeled kk 242

I recently purchased a cutting on ebay from kakster, he told me he got it from a trade long ago..I was wondering if it was there cuttings tbat knize sold around the year 2000 that eventually started the short spine peruvianus mix up, and nurserys started selling em as peruvianis. According to what I have researched on these they come from either spots rio chillon langa or genuine loc. And the one I have looks very simmilar to what trout has in his website just that mine looks pretty beat up. They look like the ones in grizlys pictures from around matucana..

Whats up with my graft. At first I thought maybe have spider mites...idk so I started treating it with neem. It looks like the new growth is unaffected. Ill take it as a good sign. And on my peru its getting some veriated blotches idk what it could be

How to recognize a huanucoensis
tizocAu replied to trucha's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
maybe to end the confusion permanently we should call all the pc= pachanoi, true pachanoids = huanucoensis. and all peruvianus = macroganous.... -
How to recognize a huanucoensis
tizocAu replied to trucha's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
yea I would love a cut of that huanucoensis but I really don't see a difference between this plant and the long spined pachanoi forms around -
I have a small hybrid looks almost like a super pedro. Idk I never really seen a scop in real life but I have a hybrid that looks like that. Looking foward to mixing it with my rio mizquensis
