Cause when we look back at what we have done, Can you believe what we have become? As we walk into the sun, Can you believe what we have become? As we walk into the sun.

    PMA in cairns

"WEST Australian police warn that a batch of potentially lethal drugs being sold as ecstasy could be circulating on Perth streets. They say the small beige pills being passed off as the popular party drug are in fact tablets of PMA, or paramethoxy-amphetamine (PMA). Drug users have been warned PMA causes the body to overheat and has been linked to deaths. Police said they discovered about 1000 of the pills at a property in Cooloongup, about 50km south of Perth, on August 13. Lab tests revealed their content and police are concerned there may be more in circulation.

    RIP Les Paul :(

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8200385.stm Les Paul, whose pioneering electric guitars were used by a legion of rock stars, has died at the age of 94. Mr Paul died from complications of pneumonia in New York, according to Gibson, the firm that sold his guitars. He is credited with developing one of the first solid-body electric guitars, which went on sale in 1952 and contributed to the birth of rock. He also developed other influential recording innovations such as multi-track recording and overdubbing. And he was credited with inventing the eight-track tape recorder. U2 guitarist The Edge, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, Guns N' Roses star Slash and The Who's Pete Townshend are among those closely associated with the Les Paul sound. Slash described him as "an exceptionally brilliant man". The guitarist said: "Les Paul was a shining example of how full one's life can be. He was so vibrant and full of positive energy. I'm honoured and humbled to have known and played with him over the years." Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman of Gibson Guitar, said: "His influence extends around the globe and across every boundary." Gibson president Dave Berryman said: "As the 'father of the electric guitar', he was not only one of the world's greatest innovators but a legend who created, inspired and contributed to the success of musicians around the world." Hall of Fame Mr Paul was also a successful performer in his own right, notching up 11 US number one singles and 36 gold discs with his wife Mary Ford. He was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1978 and the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Les Paul began as a country and jazz musician, playing with such acts as Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. Unhappy with acoustic guitars, he had begun experimenting with guitar amplification at the age of 13 by placing a telephone receiver under the strings. He created his first solid-body electric guitar, dubbed "the log", in 1941. "I went into a nightclub and played it. Of course, everybody had me labelled as a nut," he later said. It did not go on sale for another 11 years, by which time Leo Fender's rival Telecaster model was already on the market. In 1948, Mr Paul almost died in a car crash that shattered his right arm and elbow. Afterwards, he convinced doctors to set his broken arm in the guitar-picking and cradling position. He continued to refine his guitar design throughout the 1950s. Its basic structure has barely changed over the decades and continues to be popular among stars and amateurs alike. "Suddenly, it was recognised that power was a very important part of music," he said. "To have the dynamics, to have the way of expressing yourself beyond the normal limits of an unamplified instrument, was incredible." His work on taping techniques began after World War II, when Bing Crosby gave him a tape recorder. Multi-tracking - where separate recordings are combined - was first heard in the 1950 number one hit How High the Moon, a duet with Ford. Stephen Lawson, editor of Total Guitar magazine, said: "It was a beautiful guitar… it was hand crafted, it was carved, it was a really beautiful looking instrument. "I've been trying to imagine a world without Les Paul - it would be so different. Until he invented multi-track recording, you had to make a record gathered round a microphone in the middle of room. "One of the most obvious classic Les Paul Guitar solos is Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N' Roses - that intro has such a distinctive Les Paul sound to it. "It can go from a mellow beautiful sound that really hits you in your soul, all the way to a shredding searing lead guitar tone." Was a legend for sure.........

  10. By Julian Drape August 05, 2009 06:56pm TIGHTER contols on over-the-counter painkillers containing codeine will come into effect from May next year, but pharmacists say the changes will only mask the problem of people abusing the drugs. The National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee (NDPSC) has confirmed that codeine combination products will become "pharmacist only" for dispensing. The recommended daily dose will be set at 100mg of codeine and the maximum pack size limited to five days' supply. Cough and cold preparations are to be excluded from the changes. The move is in response to community concern surrounding the abuse of, and addiction to, common but potent painkillers. High use of codeine has been linked to serious side-effects including perforated stomach ulcers, renal failure and even death. The committee noted that making codeine combinations Schedule 3 drugs could increase costs, but suggested "questions of cost were not a directly relevant consideration for a scheduling decision". It said requiring buyers to speak to a pharmacist could be "a significant trigger for addicts to eventually seek help". But the Pharmacy Guild of Australia says the committee's decision is not the solution and will only mask abuse. "These changes alone are unlikely to influence individual misuse behaviour," guild president Kos Sclavos said. "The shift to `pharmacist only' ... and to smaller pack sizes will only see some at-risk people move to multiple packs and resort to pharmacy shopping." The guild had wanted the committee to introduce real-time monitoring and reporting of sales of codeine combinations, as is done with pseudoephedrine. "Sadly, however, it is very likely that emergency wards will continue to have to deal with gastric bleeding and deaths from this misuse well beyond the introduction of these measures in May next year," Mr Sclavos said. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21...5005361,00.html

Do a google search on "OBBT" growing method, never seen cannabis growing so well ;) "OBBT is a unique growing medium consisting of coconut moss, vermiculite, pearlite and compost resting on a 4 inch bed of lava rock. The rock is completely submerged in a water bath. The depth of the bath is maintained by a side overflow drain which sits at exactly 4 inches from the bottom of the tub. This allows me to water them with a can the traditional way but maintains the water level and makes sure the medium above never gets "soupy". At the bottom of the bath rests a 12 inch aquarium bubbler wand that constantly injects the bath and the medium above it with air. This oxygenates the entire medium, encouraging the growth of beneficial aerobic bacteria and killing off pesky anaerobic bacteria; technically making it a hydroponic system. However, unlike most hydroponic rigs it is mostly compromised of organic matirial and is thusly capable of supporting a full-fledged Mycorrhizae fungal colony which lives in a symbiotic relationship with the cannabis roots. The fungus chelates all of the minerals for the plants, prevents dehydration, balances the PH and acts as a secondary immune system to fight off unwanted intruders. All of this makes for furiously aggressive growth from the plants, it is an optimum environment for nutrient uptake, water retention and oxygenation. I feel that it has advantages over both traditional soil growing and hydroponic setups; the best of both worlds. It is much lower maintenance than most common hydroponic setups as most of the nutrients are loaded into the medium up front. I use organic nutes almost exclusively: Blood meal, coffee grounds, wood ash, garden sulfur, fast-acting lime and an organic mix called Bio-tone starter plus (contains feather meal, grab meal, guano, greensand and bone meal). The medium contains two special additives: Soil Moist granules to help it retain moisture (very important due to the light spongy nature of the medium) and Hydro Organics' Mycorrhizae Super Pack (a form of dry fungus spores). Over the course of their lives the cannabis plants will receive fish emulsion for a nitrogen boost, corn-cob ash for potassium (very important) and bloom burst (my only salt fertilizer, just one teaspoon per season) for phosphorous. Other than the dry mycorrhizae spores (which aren't completely necessary because the Bio-Tone mix comes pre-loaded with a small variety of beneficial spores) all of these materials are readily available to anyone from a variety of local sources."

    What to do next!

Hey Everyone Here's me story..... I live in Perth, there is a company in QLD that has my mobile number listed on the home page of their website for a "free bus shuttle service" it is a typo as both our numbers are very close to being the same. Now for the last 2 years I have been getting many phone calls at all hours by people wanting to be picked up or even worse getting lots of messages on my message bank that I then pay for that are not really for me. About 5 months ago I found the website & rang the manager and explained my problem & he said he would get it fixed asap. Today still not fixed and still getting calls! You would think this business would have lots of pissed off customers as when I get a call I just say "yep right I will be there in 15 minutes" then when they call back in 1/2 an hour I say "Im on my way" & then just turn my phone off!!!!! lol What makes it funnier is that after speaking to a young lady who wanted a lift I found out that my name is the same as the bus driver! I don't think I will get much action from this company and I dont know who the owner is and I thought the manager would have this fixed as he stated. So who should I complain too to get this fixed? Thanks for any info
