    Australian Shamans/Spiritual Healers

Hi all, I've heard many stories of people seeing shamans, or going on spiritual retreats in Australia (eg. Santo Daime), but I can never find any leads. This is obviously due to legal issues. By shaman I obviously mean someone who works with plant medicines, whether they be native or from anywhere else in the world. It also obviously means they deal with altered states of consciousness, because if they didn't, then they wouldn't be a shaman! I would greatly appreciate any leads, or anyone who could PM me, and let me know of their experiences in Australia, if they aren't comfortable discussing it on an open forum. Thanks!

    Favourite Vietnamese dish?

I've traveled extensively through SE. Asia, and Vietnamese food is my favourite. The best Vietnamese food I had was in Hoi An. It was a little old lady who was on the side of the road with her little food cart. She had no teeth, and couldn't speak a word of english, but her smile and demeanor intrigued me. I got a bowl of whatever she was serving (I still don't know what it's called), for 10,000 dong (about 70c at the time I was there). It was incredible. I had another bowl right after I finished, and she looked genuinely happy that I had loved it so much, which made me feel even better. It was just a typical Vietnamese dish... broth with lot's of fresh green vegetables, bean shoots and a bit of coriander. To this day I still haven't had any better Vietnamese food... Here in Aus or in Vietnam.

The Oscar Pistorius conundrum - Blade runner

I thought the same things. If he can compete with able-bodied people, my opinion is that he obviously has an unfair advantage. How many people have had ankle twists or breaks during a race, for example. Not only having no strain or fatigue on his feet/ankles, but his artificial legs have a slight spring to them, giving him an extra push. That aside, it's also not fair that someone can compete in both the olympics and paralympics. It should have been one or the other.

Anyone else like the Joe Rogan Experience?

I like a lot of what Joe does, but not all. I think it's a shame when it feels like he's just brought a couple of buddies onto the show, who don't really know anything about anything, and sound like they're talking rubbish the whole time.
