Cheers waterboy, The 28kg on the right was from "World's Biggest Pumpkin" from Diggers seed stock, the 25kg was from seed stock from a family member, I was under the assumption it was more of a eating pumpkin, but it turned into a giant one maybe I left it too long? lol Some seed sounds great, as I want a bigger pumpkin next year :D Happy to send some of mine out as well, although I can't guarantee I did not get some cross pollination. Yeh I believe my vines wern't getting enough water/nutrients, as they died off early jan. But I did also start them off early, as I have a garden bed that is covered with a small poly tunnel.

Left one 25kg, Right 28kg I harvested them quite early as the vines starting drying up, might not of been getting enough water. Was my first year growing pumpkins lol

Shallower pots hold more water than taller narrower pots, maybe they are aiming for the majority of water although not a lot to e held within the more air filled terracotta layer? I'm not too sure too be honest -

I would assume the lower half of the whole pot would be broken tiles, not just a layer? -

I personally wipe my blade between cuts with isopropyl alcohol sprayed on a bit of tissue paper. I do it more as a preventative measure, which is how i like to tackle all pest and disease related things on my plants

Pine needles does not make soil/potting mix more acidic, just a tale. but as other said i had mine in azalea mix worked a treat. Although I've now got them in the ground where my old compost pile use to be, the high amount of organic material should make the nutrients available to the blueberries

What causes the 'blue' shading on certain cacti?
franky replied to Brendo's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I would assume it might be similar to the powder some succulents get as a sorta sunscreen? I've got a very blue T. Peru and if you waipe your finger along the stem, there is a definite green marking. It doesn't seem to come back as well. -
