I would love to keep bees but unfortunately I am severely allergic to their stings (is there any way to avoid this) as I'm seriously considering doing this as a serious hobby? -

I know of a study which had been undertaken in the river land in SA using salt bush to rejuvenate fields that had been over worked over many years & after one year cycle of growing salt bush the fields had been restored to within 95% of original consistency & ready to farm again with regular cropping & so forth!- 2 replies

great thread as for growing stuff my plot is relatively small-medium house & garden & I grow strawberries , lemons(dwarf), passion fruit, tomatoes,capsicums, chillies, peas, beans, corn & pumpkins & pretty much anything else that i can get seed from to propagate myself . aquaculture is one way of producing your own meat supply too just need a large enough tank / tub to get started . best fish to use in a system here in Australia I think is Golden perch / callop! -
