    Salvia coccinea ???????

I came across some Salvia coccinea at a plant sale in Bendigo today so I bought 6 of them being vaguelly aware that this species has some sort of psychoactive properties. I had a look on the web and have found it the effects are like Salvia splendens but different Anyone know much about this plant? I see earthpod is selling 1/4 gram extracts for $7. That works out to about the same cost as MJ so I'd like to think it does something. Humbly seeking wisdom and knowledge from the great ones, twee

    Off my chest!

I get annoyed with the catch 22 of: its an illegal substance we cant talk about its use. Something is declared illegal becuase its use is supposedly dangerous. If something is considered dangerous its use should be discussed in order to educate and reduce the risk of harm through ignorance. Sex is illegal when your underage but the powers that be have the common sense to educate young people about safe sex, pregnancy and STD's. Blow me if the same common sense cant be applied to ilicit substances. Maybe that fool wouldnt of blown himself up in his "acacia lab" then [This message has been edited by twee (edited 27 April 2002).]
  3. I noticed P. harmala is sensitive. When mine arrived from gomaos they looked healthy and immediately began to die back. When they look dead I cut them back and they burst back into life with fresh growth from the ground. I then transplanted 1 into the garden and its starting to go brown at the egdes. It may be hardy in regards to being tolerant of poor soil and drought but its a sensitive thing in other respects.

    Wanted, Cytisus Scopartus.

http://www.edirectory.co.uk/chilternseeds/ sell scotch broom for £1.49. Dunno what the postage is. They're not an ethno site but they have 5000+ seeds in their database so they might have a few things you want, so you can save on postage.

    Definition of Poor

I took Johnnies 7k FHB grant and went and bought a mudbrick house on 0.5 acres out in the sticks. Being poor in the country is a lot better than being poor in the city and I have a lot of experience with poor. Even the Centrelink people are nice. My $0.02 AUD (GST inc.)

    Are my babies ok?

I planted a few different species of cacti seeds ans the larger ones are about the size of a pea and just developing their first spines. The problem is that theyre all either greenish with reddish brown specks or reddish brown with some greenish spec. Are they ok? Theyre in a greenhouse environment in conditions of modest humidity and 70%+ shade and I mist them once or twice a day.

    Salvia coccinea ???????

ta tst. Thanks for the sweet flag btw...it arrived in great condition. Hope you got my seeds. Savlia coccinea tastes bloody awful. Salvia splendens is a delicious by comparison. I like it though. Body felt heavy like when you get out of the bath. Consequently I just wanted to stay put. Smoking it is worse. I think my first pull on a cigarette was easier. I noticed I really enjoyed things on the TV that were funky and high quality and quickly lost patience with shit. Same with IRC. I was really keen to chat to anyone that was interesting and to ignore anyone who was talking crap. Seems to be very relaxing and I don't know if thats the reason why I felt my perception of things around me was enhanced. There's also a reasonably strong ego dissolution as well. I'm normally self conscious and a worrier and that all disappeared. A 5x extract that reduced the amount one needed to consume would be the go. 1st Dosage was 10 small leaves sublingually for 30 minutes. 2nd was the same quantity dried in the microwave and smoked.

    Germniation of hops seeds

Hops have been a disaster for me. I planted 2 seed trays 2 months ago and had all but given up on them, keeping the trays moist out of some faint sense of hope. Last week something sprouted. 1 small seedling popping out that looks more like thick solid grass than anything else. I'm curious what it is though so I'm letting it grow

    When to sow poppy?.

I plant poppy seeds into seedling trays first and then transplant. Sure enuff a fair few of them dont take to it and die, but I find you get so many seedlings when you sow poppies it doesnt matter. The amount that die when transplanted and need to be replaced is probably less than you have to pull up anyway when your thinning out.

    Some cacti seeds to trade.

Did you get the cacti seeds tantra? I sent them well over a week ago
  17. I've sewn around 100 cacti seeds recently and have decided thats enough for now and have the following left over that I'd like to trade for some non-cacti seeds. I have 1 each of the following seed packets containing 20 seeds. They're all psychoactive species. Coryphantha palmeri Echinocereus salm-dyckianus Epithelantha micromeris Mammillaria craigii Trichocereus peruvianus. (Also have literally hundreds of seeds from the fruit of an unknown trich species that anyone who wants any can have) Esp. interested in wiccan plants at the moment but am open to anything interesting anyone would like to trade. cheers, twee

    Are my babies ok?

I followed your advice and placed all my trays on the ground under the potting bench in my greenhouse. When I cam to check on them the following morning every last one of them had been eaten by slugs or something c'est la vie I guess
  19. Thelema.. Take a chill pill and stop embaressing yourself.
  20. Thelema... stop embarrassing yourself And mebbe get your facts straight before giving me lectures. I said I had a business law sub-major and didnt know anything about criminal or constitutional law. I never made any claims what so ever about being a lawyer. I'm a CPA if you must know. I also said that my opinion was based on applying legal "logic". The basic principles you learn in Torts and legal methodology can be applied to most legal situations. But please let me apologise for trying to take your original post seriously. Good luck with your hair brained scheme to have the SD scheduling overturned on constitutional grounds as a violation of religious freedom.
  21. Thelema... You're dreaming if you think showing that a particular plant has religious uses that legislation declaring it a poison is invalid. If one wished to argue that the scheduling of Salvia Divinorum as class 9 is invalid based on the merits of the plant itself then well and good. This has nothing to do with the plants uses in some here to unestablished religious rite. As I see it we have 2 clear and distinct issues coming to light in this thread. A: SD is wrongly scheduled B: Religious freedom One has nothing to do with the other.
  22. I have a business law sub-major but know stuff all about constitutional or criminal law. But applying some legal "logic" my understanding would be that religious freedom is not relevant here. Salvinorin is a poison now. The term "religious freedom" implies that all religions should have equal rights under the law. No individual or religion would be entitled to break the law. As would be the case with the "Church of the Salvianoughts" or any religion for that matter that encouraged its adherants to consume "poisons". You get my drift. Which does make sense. I'd hate to have to explain to my daughter the religious practices of the "Church of the dog rooters" or "The holy brotherhood of arsonists" Does give me an idea on answering a particular question at the next census though.

    salvia

I once came across a website headed: Entheogenics - the revolution against the most cognitively oppressed age in human history. I thought that was funky at the time. Now I think that statement is more than just witty. Good to read some references to Orwell. I could talk about Orwellian stuff all the time. Apropos: Keep the Aspidastra Flying is another great book by Orwell. Its not political like 1984 or Animal Farm but its certainly one of my favourite reads.
  24. I read something along these lines about the peyote church in the US. While I doubt such an argument will ever hold water in an Australian court, if any plant really did deserve to have its own religion, SD is a stand out candidate. Who of us who are familiar with this plant haven't at some time referred to lady salvia?
  25. torstens post shows they've specifically listed the plant not just the diterpine. growing salvia divinorum is legally the same as operating a heroin production lab as i understand it think ill sign up for a hushmail account
