Guys thanks heaps for the help. This is the second time someone in this forum told me "that can be lethal". http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32437 To me the good quality advice offered here is what makes this place so dammed good. There is so much misinformation on the net and that makes things really hard and dangerous for the run of the mill newbie. Resolution: store the mandrake root in the freezer until further knowledge is gained. Continue the shamanic experimentation with other compounds.

Hi fellow plant lovers, I recently bought one of those portobello mushrooms kits from flower power see this post; http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=32413 Because these portobellos pins are doing really well and it is so much fun to watch these little guys grow i decided to fully get into it. I did some research, look at some YouTube videos and read that brilliant post Watertrade did a while ago; http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=22562 A few days later I sourced some materials (agar, dissection kit, petri dishes, etc.) courtesy of my girlfriend who works in a lab and I embark myself deep into this mushroom journey. On the 15th of June I run two tests. Test 1: I took a few tissue samples out of a buttom mushroom I got from wolies and inoculate the agar media (far out did I just write that line.. It sounded so technical for a newbie...) trust me I just learnt this lingo by watching videos and reading posts . Test 2: I took a a couple of spore prints from different mushrooms and inoculate the agar media. After a few days some white stuff started to grow ! Yey success !!! But..... it also started to smell a bit and the mushroom tissue on test 1 went blackish so I am not really sure how is this going. Does anybody have any suggestions ? Is this going good, bad or not going at all ? Any word of advice ? If these are going well I am going to keep posting the progress If not I'll do more trials... Peace.

So it goes like this... I have little Pedro that I lives inside my Studio and yesterday because of the Sydney crappy weather girlfriend decided to not commute and work from home. Apparently she gets bored and gets the "awesome idea" to do some "art prints and patterns" with a white board texta on my little Pedro who is already struggling see picture. I am not too annoyed about it. I guess i just found it so random that i decided to shared this story with you guys. Any ideas out there on how to deal with this ? Should I wash this prints out. Maybe use methanol ? Also this little Pedro 52 cm now have been living inside by this window for the last 5 months so it developed this supper thin tip (not a healthy look). I don't understand why because he gets decent amount of sun light right there were he sits next to the window.....Maybe he doesn't like the view. I hope he is not too annoyed about his body paint.

Hi guys - does anybody know what are these guys ? I found heaps of these fellows today growing on wood mulch close to my place. There are 2 species (at least) numbered 1 to 5. I a making a spore print and will post pics tomorrow. Cheers,

I edited the posts to blur the background (Thanks for pointing it out Therefore) Outcome: will keep the painting after all it doesn't look that bad and will tell the lady to leave Mr. Pedro alone which now is going to live in the balcony until he thicken up a little bit. Thanks for the comment on the pipe I got that one from Paraguay. Hi I just bought my very first mushroom kit from flower power. I really enjoyed watching these guys grow and I think I am at the beginning of a new chapter in my life (the mushroom chapter). I don't really know much about it so I am asking you guys how long would it take to get some decent size ones sort of breakfast size. I took this picture today. Also would possible to get the spores from this ones continually re-grow them ? So I don't have to buy another kit and keep a sustainable mushroom supply going (please excuse my lack of technical lingo I am new to this). The big pup in the middle is about 1cm in diameter. Cheers,
