Fallen from the sky - Moldavite
spice-of-life posted a topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Has anyone here had any experiences with the stone Moldavite? The reason I ask is because there are two variations, One being plain Moldavite and the other, more expensive version being called Besednice Moldavite. I have heard of some amazing stories asociated with this 15 million year old crystal that fell from the sky and it has also been referred to as being linked to both The Holy Grail & The Philosophers Stone. I have been told mixed things like "Besednice Moldavite is the one to get" and others have told me to find the "angel chime" while others tell me that "Moldavite is Moldavite", and its up to the crystal whether or not it accepts it owner. Anyone with any experience on this amazing gem, Please feel free to share!! -
I just did a little more research into the ID and your quite right, It is definitely a T.knuthianus. Something interesting to add to the collection

Nice plants Naja naja, Do you find that they all become more fat at the tip and stay skinny at the base or do you think it's just a trait of the Psyco0 X Yowie? One of my super-pedro's seems to do the exact same thing, but mine is a little fatter at the base. I love the Yowie's and I actually just won a Yowie off evilbay. Here's a couple of pics to compare with your Psycho0 X Yowie.

Hey BlownG, I think this is what you are looking for. It's Wire Mesh Panel 180x120cm and the grid size is: 100x100x5mmHere's the link; http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_wire-mesh-handy-panel-180x120cm-100x100x5mm-21866_P3069924.aspx?search=wire&searchType=any&searchSubType=products It would work out rather expensive though as you would need quite a few of these panels to make-up a greenhouse around the size in your video but you could perhaps get the materials cheaper from a recycling centre/dump shop.

Well there's only one way to find out I guess. And the fun begins... Done some trimming of surrounding trees today in-order to get that little bit of extra sunlight in there. It really did make a big difference, especially after I rerouted the monster passion-fruit vine which was blocking alot of the midday sun as it was basically covering the whole roof. Much better now.

Has anyone ever used polycarbonate sheeting for their roofing? I am converting one of the chook-pens on my farm into a nursery/greenhouse and I want to be able to keep the rain out but still let as much sun in as possible. The problem is that the clear polycarbonate roofing sheets say that it blocks out 99.9% of UV rays. Does that mean that it won't be any good to use as a roofing material for my nursery?

Hey Guys & Gals, I was searching for a MP3 player the other day and stumbled upon a new concept by Creative. It is a wristband MP3 player that has wireless earplugs and charges of your pulse, yes that's right, there's no batteries, you just need to have a beating heart in-order for it to operate and charge. Truly an innovative invention Here's a link to it; http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digitally-advanced-fashion And a basic run-down on how it operates; http://thetechjournal.com/tech-news/you-will-soon-be-able-to-charge-your-ipod-with-your-heartbeat.xhtml Very interesting stuff!!

Cactus & Succulent Show Brisbane 8th & 9th June
spice-of-life replied to shortly's topic in News & Notices
Haha, I must be always getting on the wrong bus then. I called Park-ridge transport and there's no buses running on Saturday or Sunday from where I am, so it looks like I'm not going to make it this year Time to start saving for another car I think. -
Lilly Pilly Jam & other bush foods Receipes
spice-of-life replied to altenate's topic in Australian Native Plants
Wow, Lilly pilly jam sounds rather interesting. Still, I can't go past home-made rosella jam. Absolutely delish, and as soon as my Rosella plants are ready to harvest I'll be making a batch. I do have an idea for the sweetening side of things though... I'm sure you have heard of the new Pepsi next that uses 30% less sugar than normal Pepsi due to the addition of using a natural sweetener from the Stevia plant, well that's exactly what I plan on using for my home-made Rosella jam. I'm guessing it will still need SOME sugar though... I'll let you know how it goes -

I'm going to do my best to make this one & get some photos with my new camera, but if I can't make it would someone be able to take some pics and post them up on here for everyone to see? Public transport is a nightmare out this way... -

Hi SABers, I have been recently looking at getting a new quilt cover and pillow cases for my bed which arrives tomorrow but they all just seem too drab and boring. That was until I found some awesome bedding from Cafepress. I was originally going to get a double quilt cover with a cactus print & complimenting barrel cactus pillow cases but have since changed my mind, although I still want the cactus pillow covers. What could be better than resting your head on a bunch of cacti at the end of the day? Anyway this is the bed-set that I am going for so-far; Quilt/duvet cover http://www.cafepress.com.au/+mystic_fantasy_dream_twin_duvet,640139108 Pillow case x2 http://www.cafepress.com.au/+barrel_cacti_pillow_case,667391564 It's a tad expensive but I think it will look excellent If you can think of a better combination feel free to show me!! Next on the cards are some "out-there" curtains I think, and maybe even a matching rug...

Incriminating posts & where are the mods????
spice-of-life replied to altenate's topic in Site & Forum Matters
C'mon guys, we're all on the same side here. How about a little bit of goosefraba... Time to build a bridge, get over it, shake hands and make up. We are all apart of a community and a good one at that, and a good community sticks together. Lets get back to our love of plants and gardening in general and show our appreciation for the gifts Mother Earth has given us. Lets show our appreciation for the all the great advice, knowledge and friendship that we have inherited from the SAB forum/family. We're all friends here. We're all family and WE are all ONE. I also plan on getting one of these in the near future, especially after seeing it in person.

Hi guys, been looking for a Pachycereus pringlei(Cardon cactus) plant for my garden for a while now and I can't seem to track one down anywhere. If you, or someone you know has a plant they would be keen to sell me I'd be much appreciative. Thanks-

One of the kids hired out "We bought a zoo" the other day and I thought it was going to be another mediocre kids's flick but it was fantastic. Enjoyed every second

Hi guys, it's been a while since I last posted on this forum but have just recently come across a NZ herb that interests me and am wondering if it would be legal to import into AUS. The herb is Radula Marginata and I want to order both the herb itself and the extract. QUOTE: Radula marginata, a genus of liverworts, native to New Zealand, has been recently discovered to contain cannabinoids. The cannabinoid present is not THC, but a totally different molecule. The quantity of cannabinoid present is much less than in cannabis.

I woke up this morning in the most foul mood & with the worst migraine but you have made it all better by putting a huge genuine grin on my face, so for that I thank you. You are very talented mate -
I have been to several different nurseries around the SEQ area lately looking for rare and interesting Cacti without much luck. To be honest I would say Bunnings had the best range out of all of them which is really saying something... Surely there are a few gems among the cobblestones out there somewhere. I haven't even seen one Bridgesii monstrose(penis plant). Can anyone suggest a good place to find a dedicated cacti nursery that's actually worth the drive to go and see??

Mate, it's completely none of my business but personally I would not risk sending an Iboga(or any live plant/plant matter) out of Australia. -
