  1. OK my estimate may have been little high but they do have quite a few really big trees not only in the acacia section but spread all over the gardens. Not sure what anyone would actully do with a kilo anyway? Maybe start their very own acacia forest?
  2. As far a A. maidenii goes you could get one of the Canberra chaps to nip over the botanic gardens in the right season and easily collect kilos of seed. After getting permission of course.

    microwave sterilizing

I've been playing around with a microwave sterilizer. The kind you use to sterilize baby's bottles. It seems to work OK but it's very limiting because you can't use anything metal.

    salvia and leaf curl(?)

Back in the good old days before it was illegal and I got rid of all my plants, I used to have a similar problem. I found the problem was caused by the cold from the window, I moved them back from the window a few inches and it didn't happen any more.

what the hell is going on

Spike, did you ever get the seeds I sent you, must have been over a month ago now? Not sure what Israel's customs service is like but I'd hate to think your seeds were seized and you thought I'd ripped you off.

    Duboisia hopwoodii germination

Finding a supplier of seed would also be great! Am I to take it from this post Ed that you have some?

    Mandragora autumnalis

In case your email never returns thought I should register my interest in this post. Cheers,
  10. I know in Australia it's not really the time to welcome spring, but any excuse for a party's a good one!
  11. Can anyone help me with some seed or a supplier for this one? I know you used to sell it Torsten, any chance you will again? Thanks.

    Wanted, Erythroxylum Australe.

What about the ACT. I was at the ANBG on the weekend and they have at least 3. Section 220 if anyone wants to have a look. [This message has been edited by Scott (edited 29 April 2002).] [This message has been edited by Scott (edited 29 April 2002).]

    brissy botanic gdns

I think you might be onto something here Rev. I've only just started looking but the census of plants in Australian botanic gardens has Catha edulis in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart botanic gardens. Hobart? Really? Not sure of when the last census was or what type of specimens they are. Here's the link http://www.anbg.gov.au/anbg/database.html Happy hunting.

    psycotria viridis

This would probably be a good place to start. The Australian community gardens network http://www.magna.com.au/~pacedge/garden/ Best of luck.
