BTW... https://dancesafe.org/no-one-tried-to-dump-tons-of-25i-nbome-in-las-water-supply/ No One Tried to Dump Tons of 25I-NBOMe in LA’s Water Supply We find it necessary to address this recent article that has been floating around the internet claiming that “[a] former employee of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has been arrested this week after allegedly attempting to poison the city’s water supply with a potentially dangerous synthetic hallucinogen.” The article, which went viral enough to warrant its own reddit thread, was originally published on World News Daily Report, a website that at first glance appears to be another online tabloid, but which is really a satire site. At the bottom of each page on the website, it states: “World News Daily Report assumes all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any person, living, dead or undead, is purely a miracle.” According to the article, Alexander S. Crow, who is said to be a member of the “Psychedelic Rainbow Warrior Peace Force” was stopped “by security agents after breaking into a restricted area of the LADWP with a modified milk truck tanker carrying an estimated 11,600 gallons or 43,900 liters of the synthetic hallucinogen 251-NBOMe.” Not only is the article a demonstrable satire, and therefore fake news (the mug shot used in the photo is from a Miami news source in 2010), it also misstates what 25I-NBOMe is–it is not “251-NBOMe,” and it is not “synthetic LSD,” as it states in a quote within the article. “N-bomb” as it is called, is a highly toxic and extremely dangerous drug that is often misrepresented as LSD on blotter and in vials. While it is a synthetic hallucinogen, it is not related to LSD at all. 25I-NBOMe, which is short for for 2C-I-NBOMe, is a derivative of the phenethylamine psychedelic 2C-I. Ironically, since chocolate contains β-phenylethylamine, it is pharmacologically more accurate to call this family of substances ‘synthetic chocolate’ than it is to call them ‘synthetic LSD’. While entertaining as a satire, this is a perfect example of how fast “fake news” can spread, and why it is important to always check sources on news stories before sharing or forming a belief on the subject. Here, the unknowing dissemination of the information contained within the article, which was intended to be unfactual, only contributes to the stigma and hysteria around particular drugs, especially those labeled as hallucinogenic. It is our duty as members of the harm reduction and drug policy movement to identify and debunk fake news and myths about drugs and drug use. Knowledge is power! And remember, if you do choose to use, always Test It! Share This Dec 29

Lophophora jourdaniana puts out offsets in that manner. They also have rosepink flowers. Do the offsets have small spines that are barely visible? L.. Jourdaniana offsets less then caespitosa forms and the offsets and sometimes the main head have tiny spines under the whool. Could also be Fricii I think, the main head looks like those. Hard to tell...

I never would have picked him as a nut-job. He just looks so well adjusted and trust worthy. You never can tell these days. You have to admit that it would have made for an interesting night at the senior citizens club bingo night though.

Hi, I am keen to know whether the community in Brisbane involved with EGA want a Brisbane chapter of the Australian Psychedelic Society to start here. I'd be prepared to convene a few initial meetings if anybody else wants. Is there are reason for having a "psychedelic society"? My thoughts are yes if anybody is in need of advocacy, or feeling a need to communicate with other folks who want to advocate for the legal healthcare oriented use of psychedelics. I missed the Australian Psychedelic Society Inaugural General Meeting last Wednesday, which happened in Melbourne at 3CR, and had online access I didn't know about until today. And I guess that since I know at least a few men who have used psychedelics who don't have a friendly network, it is worth finding out if 4ZZZ want to be involved. If anybody wants to converse with me in private try my e-mail [email protected] And since I think in public should be OK, (so long as all safety concerns are met), there is also this thread. I'd prefer to use this thread than the Australian Psychedelic Society - Brisbane Facebook group, but as that exists as well, anybody interested might want to connect there as well. I mean, I know it will be all the boring stuff, but sometimes it is going to be the boring stuff which keeps our set and setting safe and sound. My own interest is in enabling legitimate and overt (as in not illegal), use of psychedelics as interrupters of addiction. I have experience using homeopathy to interrupt addiction, and believe homeopathy's efficacy is improved via psychedelics, (and homeopathy can improve psychedelics efficacy as well). There is a document I found today in the Global Psychedelic Society/Network website, of basic guidelines for starting a Psychedelic Society group. Produced I think by somebody in APS in Melbourne. I tried to attach it here but it didn't transfer, so I will cut and paste it if anybody else wants it here. I have no idea why my own identity seems to be coming out as a sometimes user of one psychedelic or another, (actually not nearly as much as many of you will have used), but it seems to be something which is happening outside of my own capacity to be in control of my outcomes, so I am just rolling with this for as long as it lasts.

Isn't that the same for all politicians though, you just invert the meaning of anything they say to understand what they are really saying.

Thanks thegreatartist and thanks again Horsey for the input. Couldn't see any little spines but some of the offsets feel to the touch that there may be something under the fur on a few of them, I really don't know though. I would try get a close up but I only have my crappy phone camera which makes all close ups come out blurry as. I mixed some pollen back and forth between the three flowers, so will be interesting to see if anything comes of that. Either way, ID request was mostly out of curiosity and it would be nice to put a name to it, but this is one of my first cactus grown from seed (Koehres mixed LW), so I have a bit of a soft spot for it, and whatever it is I reckon its sexy as.... Thanks again......Cheers!!!

Agastache mexicana - toronjil morado (purple melissa) Picked one of these up on a random Bunnings run today as the name sounded familiar, and I like anise-flavoured things. Turns out it's an interesting plant - not unlike a lot of Agastache species. The plant is used in traditional medicine as a tranquilizer, sleep inducer, anti-hypertensive, anti rheumatic treatment, and as a treatment for stomach pain. An infusion of the plant, both fresh or dried, is valued in treating various gastrointestinal, nervous, and cardiovascular ailments. The plant is harvested for drying as it comes into flower since this is when it is most aromatic. http://tropical.theferns.info/viewtropical.php?id=Agastache+mexicana There's a good article mentioning this plant (an many others) here: http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0102-695X2014000500591

Go look at Craigslist (there are apps that simplify it). I have a morbid fascination with weird humans and sometimes I get on my Craigslist app and see what people are up to, haha. I guess that in itself is weird, but I think of it as Anthropology In fact, 6am Saturday morning is a good time to look!

"...and on this side of the house we keep our promises..." - some lying politician referring to some bullshit policy, and not the ones that they did the exact opposite of what they 'promised' they'd do.

Nice looking plants you have there mystical What I've noticed in my garden is spachianus is usually among the very first to open. If nothing else is open and the spach flower sets fruit, could a person conclude its self fertile? I cant say for certain what my methods were in 2012-2013, but from 2014 on I typically collect the pollen from a flower, then cut off the anthers, then pollinate the pistil. Always at dusk/night to allow the pistil to adsorb the pollen before the arrival of the bees the following morning. Often I'll tuck the pistil into the petals and out of the center of the flower itself.
