I smoked for 20 years, now I've been on the vape for years. Unflavoured and low powered, I really like it. I've quit before for years at a time with nothing, but kept coming back. Call me a nicotine junkie if you will. Vaping doesn't have the complete alkaloid profile characteristic of tobacco and isn't as addictive, there is something about the plant itself above and beyond the nicotine. Sure I could quit completely, but the reality is vaping's not that harmful and has negligible cost. In my experience it's the only thing that has ever stopped me smoking besides willpower. Anyone who says vaping doesn't work hasn't tried a device that simulates a cigarette or is in cahoots with the Cancer Council and their agenda.

I used to chain smoke Gudang Garam (very strong 31mg). While in India an Ayurvedic Doctor put me on some herbal cigarettes, the main ingredient was sunflower leaves, which he said stop the craving. When I came back to Aus I bought a poach of rollies at the airport., As I smoked them I kept topping it up with chopped sunflower leaves. That was about 20 years ago, I've never bought another pack.

It varies from area to area but in my state its now up to $9 USD for a pack of 20, thats 11.50 AUD When I quit smoking 12 years ago a carton of 200 was $30 USD and that was after years of active price increases. A few years before I quit my dads buddy went to china and brought him back a pack each of the most expensive [1.50 AUD] and cheapest [0.10 AUD] chinese cigarettes. I sort of liked the nearly free kind, they burned like a fuse but they tasted like chinese food When I was unwittingly near quitting I started growing it, thats legal here, and I remember one of the things that helped me decide to quit was when I was getting ready for my third year of growing saying to myself 'ok, I get 200 cigs per plant, how many thousands cigarettes do I smoke in 12 months?... wait... thousands? hold on!'

I've been smoke free since Jan 3 this year. The last time I lasted nearly 2 years before I tried "just one" and got hooked again. I'd been smoke free for over 6 years one other time when I quit. I tried patches and gums years ago but they never worked. I've always believed they are complete bullshit. It's another fraud like almost everything else offered by modern medicine. The best quitting resource I found was a PDF titled "Never Take Another Puff" by Joel Spitzer http://whyquit.com/joel/ntap.pdf Joel was one of the first people to even recognise smoking tobacco as an addiction, the medical establishment believed it was just a habit for way too long before they started calling it an addiction. In his PDF he explains the best way to successfully quit has been and always will be cold turkey no matter what bullshit the quacks believe or what crap they try to sell you. Paraphrasing here but Joel explains it like this. Imagine telling a heroin addict or any other addict the best way to quit is to take a small dose of the substance they are addicted to every day. They'd never get the chance to break the addiction. If you wanted to be really cruel to any addict you could let them go through the early stages of withdrawal and then give them a tiny hit once a day to keep the addiction in tact. That's Joel's allegory to cutting down. Why subject yourself to repeated withdrawal symptoms and then re-instate the addiction to do it again. 10 studies screaming "leave replacement nicotine alone!" The title of the article says 10 studies but there are actually 12. And the website where you can find Joel's work. http://whyquit.com/ I quit because I was a chain smoker and it was costing me too much, I've already saved over $200 in just one week. A pack of 30's (cheap brand) was about $30 when I quit, so they work out to almost exactly $1 per smoke.. How much are smokes in the US @Auxin ? If anyone from any other countries wants to show just how much we are getting fucked over, post how much they cost in your country or corporation masquerading as a country (like THE COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA) Never Take Another Puff Never Take Another Puff Never Take Another Puff

Yup- sleep and constipation are huge barriers in PD Melatonin is excellent for sleep for a lot of ppl Melatonin ref from 2011 I know the kefir sounds like too simple a constipation solution to be effective, but please let me know how it goes for you. It's such an easy place to start and if you can't make your own, local Farmers Markets often sell them, or find a good quality local fermented foods person on FB. Is a bit of a thing right now so locating someone with experience could be easy

How To Grow Acmella Oleracea (Toothache Plant) From Seed Plant: Acmella Oleracea Common Name: Toothache Plant Overview Acmella Oleracea is a tropical flowering herb that has medicinal value as an oral numbing agent, as well as interesting culinary uses. Description A small, erect plant, often growing no taller than 30cm. It grows bushy and bears gold and red clusters of complex flowers arranged on a stem and are often referred to as ‘buzz buttons’. Medicinal Uses Traditionally used for treating toothache, the analgesic effect has been attributed to the presence of Spilanthol, an antiseptic alkaloid, and a substance that also promotes salivation. Simply remove 3-4 choice leaves, place near the affected area in the mouth and chew. The analgesic effects are immediate along with a noted increase in saliva production. Swallowing the saliva residue will also numb the throat. Culinary Uses Small amounts of finely shredded leaves adds a unique flavor to leafy salads. The leaves have a ‘grassy’ taste followed by a strong tingling and numbing sensation often with excessive saliva production. A cooling sensation in often noted in the throat. How To Grow From Seed The seeds of Acmella Oleracea are very small and require direct sunlight in order to germinate. This plant prefers highly organic black seedling soil. Consider adding Vermiculite and/or Perlite to improve drainage. Jiffy-7 peat pellets also work exceptionally well with this plant. Sow the seeds on the surface during Spring and pat down, being careful not to cover the seeds. As this is a tropical plant, the use of a humidity dome will also improve your success rate. Place in a location that receives morning sun.Germination should occurs in approx 14 days. Replant in the garden once 6-8 leaves are visible. These also do well and look great in Terracotta pots. Questions If you have any questions about Acmella Oleracea, please feel free to contact me. I'm always happy to help. Infinite Love and Light ∞

Why do they try and explain the chemistry behind extraction. It is so poorly written and explained. Let's ignore that the NaOH is added prior to obtaining an xtaline product. And in theory there's no excess NaOH left in the final product. This could be smoked. But you wouldnt inject it. For that u need an acid salt of dmt. And I've never heard of snorting either. This is #fakenews.

Alcohol and LSD are hell on anyone who quit smoking in the last year or three. Just like weed and alcohol are hell on anyone whos recently quit junk food. Exactly two years after quitting the junk I got drunk just to see what would happen... Cookies and ice cream happened.

Ok, I have been umming about this, but my next operation has moved forward to this Fri, so I should be ok. Ive been thinking that its awhile since I hosted on the Coast, and its also awhile since we have had a social allnighter. The date would be Sat night 17th Feb, that is close to both Hillbilly and my birthdays. And I want to celebrate the completion of my surgerys, and start of being a new man. Big Col 2.0 I want to do a Mexican theme party, my backyard already has the decor, skulls, mexican food, cactus shots, etc etc So, what is the interest ? Lets do details as usual on PM. Sorry no newbies.

Too long between drinks people. I'd like to start the notion of a get together in the near future. Perhaps somewhere in the Hunter region this time since many of you hail from there (and to take a load of the d00d for a change) - http://www.huntergardens.org.au/ ?? is this any good - or suggestions? February? March? I'm happy to car pool and have a reasonable selection of plants to swap/giveaway.

Yup, taking 'illicit' drugs wasnt the hazard in this instance. Being a complete freaking moron, thats the hazard.

Yeah i will, legit! we can discuss the forum rules. You live in NSW, so these are illegal to posses or grow. Asking for them also COULD be considered conspiracy to manufacture. Hosting things like that on this forum could be used to take the whole thing down for everyone. Hence our need to keep everything legal.

Just keep the cats away from them. Mine were all eaten by my bobtail. She sought them out specifically. No other plants has she eaten, just the Ephedra..
